HOTEL REVIEW: PALMS PLACE

I managed to get a great deal on a suite for Olav, Nils and I at Palms Place for the first few nights during our Vegas trip. As the AT&T Summit took place at The Palms (sister hotel) it seemed perfect to stay in that area the first couple of nights. Only problem though was the price, but as it turned out it was actually cheaper to get a huge suite than three normal rooms. I chose the suite (how could you guess....).

I have never been to Vegas before so I was looking forward to "arriving in style". Unfortunately, our plane got delayed causing us to miss connection flight resulting in me having to stay with Olav at an airport hotel in Boston:( Nils on the other hand was quite happy as he suddenly had a suite all to himself. (He had also recently watched "the hangover" and probably envisioned all kinds of exciting ways to take advantage of the situation ). So I would only get one night in the suite, but I intended to take advantage of my stay there.

The lobby was elegant and nice, with a trendy bar. Since the Casinofloor is located at the Palms hotel, connected by a walkway, it was fairly quiet and relaxing atmosphere here, which suited me fine. I had a magnificent view of the city, especially from the large  balcony. The suite also allowed us to conduct meetings and strategy sessions in the living room so that was convenient.  Most importantly, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable so I couldn't wait to finally get a good night sleep after traveling for what seemed like days.

However, I woke up in the middle of the night to loud and unexplainable  banging sounds that forced me to call the front desk. Sounded like they were doing room renovations during the night, very annoying! The good news is that we managed to get another night for free due to the inconvenience which means one less night at Circus Circus, our home for the last part of the Vegas trip!

Would I stay here again? Yes - definitely! Expensive? Way too, but still a lot cheaper than having three normal rooms in the same hotel.

We paid:     $ 500 per night (whole suite
                    high season)
Rating:        6 / 6
